the biggest mishap in life is to miss out on your present.
to be precise: To Take your Present situation for granted.
THIS happens ALL the time. Most commonly, the poorer person looks upon the richer person and says: "lucky chum, and he doesn't even know how good he's got it!" A common example of this is the kid who gets No $$ help from his parents and thus does not get to go to college, looking at the kids that get a free ride via their parents money... some of those kids don't even need their own jobs - their parents got their backs as long as their in school. --------- See how in that example there are different gradients (kids with parents help: 1) with jobs, 2) w/out).
USUALLY, what happens is that PEOPLE need to EXPERIENCE it for themselves to get true Perspective. So lets take a look at the Caucasian Male American raised in an upper-class family. This person probably has very little TRUE perspective on normal life (ie. money concerns); even though he may be sympathetic to the poor and even donate or volunteer his time. This person might even TRY really really hard to learn & understand the hard truths of these peoples lives. But its nothing..... NOTHING like living it. Thats why many people need to experience it for themselves to understand. this jolts them with reality to give them a more true perspective on life. So when this Male turns an adult, if he shuns his family money and goes out on his own to make a life for himself - that gives him a better perspective on the reality of life for most people living on this earth (um actually most people I think that means he would be traveling the world to live in squalor conditions)... AND taking it to the Extreme; if this Male's upper-class family LOSES all their money / something tragic happens that cripples them and they can never fully recover to the place they were before... then, and Only THEN will he truly understand how it is like. Of course he may have rich family or friends in high places ---- but really when one discards everything and starts out Tabula Rasa, then they are free to find the truth.
Thats what Siddhartha did.

There are moments where I think back to a certain past time and say; "Wow, too bad I didn't know how good I had it". With the new found knowledge that life experience & time gives, you look back unto your past situations and think of how lucky you were in a certain way, yet did not reap the benefits since you were unaware of it.
Always be Grateful for what you have. Be Open, Loving and Aware. This will allow for more AWEsome things to happen in your life!!!

$money $money $money
Saving your $ is Respecting yourSelf
I want to get back to my old financial lifestyle (sorta) where I had 3-4 grand expendible play money. Of course, that's when I was 16, saved $ from my first job for 6months & blew it all in one weekend to a music festival.
I want to be able to have that much $ again - but this time I won't spend it, I'll save it ;)
Invest it in ME in US in our LIFE
Every little thing that we do...
WoW. If we only had hindsight!!!
I am young - 24. (PS- to me, it feels like I've been here for a while now!)
And Boy Howdy have I learned a lot JUST FROM LIVING IN THE WORLD - not in a classroom with textbooks (insert college envy here). P.S. most cultures think you become "of age" (an adult) when u r 25 --- US colleges consider all 25yrs+ applicants Adults.
So technically, I am on the cusp of this thing called adulthood ;)
Good to finally make it official, since ppl have been telling me I'm an "old soul" since I was 8 or 10!
I have enormous gratitude for MYSELF - for my mental clarity, happiness & control. Because I feel like I have finally stripped away all the veils, to see humanity & life for what it truly is. To Understand, and thus feel comforted. (Even to understand that there is always a portion which will be misunderstood/unkown is a comfort - jamais vu)
I will touch more on this later ;) at least this time after I found out all the answers to life I won't be forgetting it all once I wake up
